Please note that all information given about our event on our website or otherwise, is intended merely to present a general idea of the event experience. Information is correct to the best of our knowledge. Changes may be made at any time and we will notify you of any changes that we become aware of as soon as we are reasonably able to do so.

General Conditions

The Terms & Conditions detailed in this section apply to all cyclists participating in any event organised and operated by Folio Associates Limited (the company, we‚ our‚ or us).

  1. You (the participant, cyclist, rider, they, or their) accept that the event you are entering is not a race in any format.

  2. Participation in the event is at your own risk.

  3. You accept full responsibility for your actions before, during and after the event. Folio Associates Limited accepts no responsibility for the actions of any participant, nor the consequences of any such actions.

  4. Participants must take full responsibility for being sufficiently fit and healthy to complete the event. If you suffer from any condition which may affect your participation, you must let us know before you make your booking. Failure to do so means we may cancel your participation at any time.

  5. All participants must be aged 18 years or over.

  6. All participants must wear a safety-approved cycling helmet complying with latest EN1078, ANSI Z90/4 or SNELL standards. Any rider not wearing a helmet will not be permitted to participate.

  7. You accept full responsibility for ensuring the bike you are riding for the event is of a suitable standard and state of roadworthiness.

  8. All routes have been ridden and risk assessed before the event. If you choose a different route in order to avoid roads or sections you believe are beyond your capabilities, you do so at your own risk.

  9. Folio Associates Limited reserves the right to shorten or alter the published route at any time. You do not have the right to claim a refund if the route is shortened or altered.

  10. The cycling routes and itinerary have been drawn up as guidance and not as a contractual obligation and if delays or changes need to be made, you must be prepared for this and to accept any inconvenience or delays that occur as a result.

  11. You must obey all rules of the Highway Code. We request that you ride in single file where appropriate and no more than two abreast at any time. Please be aware of your fellow cyclists and any other road users. Please always indicate your intention to stop or change direction.

  12. Upon seeing other road users, such as horse riders, walkers, farm traffic, and other cyclists, you are required to slow down and pass with care. Where appropriate, you should stop and wait at the side of the route for other road users to pass safely.

  13. You accept full responsibility for any fees or costs incurred or arising from an accident either involving or caused by your actions. This includes, but is not exclusive to, fees from Police, Air Ambulance, Fire and Rescue and the Ambulance service. If the situation arises that you are not capable of making the decision to call the emergency services, you agree that a representative of Folio Associates Limited, a fellow rider, or any member of the public may call on your behalf. In this situation, you will accept the costs and consequences of such actions.

  14. If you have given us express consent on the Booking Form for the use of Photographs, you consent to us using any photographs/film/video tapes/electronic representations and/or sound recordings taken of you on our event without charge in all media at any point in time; for example, but not restricted to, for use on our website, promotional emails and social media channels.

  15. In the event that you get lost or fail to complete the course for any reason, you agree to contact a member of the Tour of the Roses team using the emergency mobile phone number provided. Not doing so may mean a search is organised and you could be held liable for any consequent cost.

  16. You accept that if we deem your behaviour is causing danger, or distress or annoyance to other members of the group or the crew, or if you commit any illegal act, you will be asked to leave immediately and we may terminate your participation. No refund or compensation will be given in these circumstances and we reserve the right to refuse future booking requests.

  17. It is your responsibility to make appropriate travel arrangements and to arrive at the starting point on time.

Booking, cancellation, refunds, transfers and insurance

  1. Prior to making a booking please read the information regarding the event on the Tour of the Roses website and these Terms & Conditions. If you have any questions please contact us.

  2. To make a booking you are required to complete the Booking Form and pay the Booking Fee in full. We will treat each Booking Form submitted as an offer by you to purchase a place on the event in accordance with these terms and conditions. We will acknowledge receipt of your booking by email. If you notice any problems or errors associated with your booking on this email, please contact us by email at [email protected] as soon as practicable to make any corrections.

  3. If you wish to cancel your participation in the event, you must notify us by email at [email protected] You will be liable for the following cancellation charges:

    • If you cancel your event participation 60 days or more before the start date of the event, your Booking Fee will be refunded in full.

    • If you cancel your event participation between 30 and 59 days before the start date of your event, 50% of your Booking Fee will be refunded.

    • If you cancel your event participation less than 30 days before the start date of the event, we will be unable to provide any refund of the Booking Fee. However, where practicable we will try to fill your place in order to facilitate a refund.

  4. Folio Associates Limited may cancel or make changes to the event due in the following circumstances:

    • Where circumstances beyond our reasonable control arise – for example, threatened or actual war, civil or political unrest, riots, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, extreme adverse weather conditions, disease, fire and/or

    • The minimum number of people needed to participate in the event has not been met. We will advise you of this no later than 60 days prior to the start date of the event.

    • If we cancel the event in either of the circumstances described above, we will endeavour to refund all payments made to us in respect of your event. We will not offer any refunds with respect to insurance premiums you may have taken out with any third parties.

  5. If you are unable to travel, and you wish to transfer your booking to another person, you must notify us at least 30 days before the start date of the event. Transfers will be permitted where possible.

  6. We recommend all participants take out sufficient insurance to cover the loss or damage of baggage, all equipment such as bicycles, helmets and electronic devices. Insurance should also cover medical expenses.

  7. We will take reasonable care when transporting your property and equipment, however we will not be held responsible for any theft or damage that arises.


  1. These terms and conditions may only be waived by one of our directors in writing

  2. These booking conditions are governed by English law and both you and we agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

  3. If any part of these terms and conditions is unenforceable (including any provision in which our liability to you is excluded) the enforceability of any other part of these terms and conditions will not be affected.

  4. A person who is not a party to this contract has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of this contract, but this does not affect any right or remedy of a third party that exists or is available apart from that Act.
